TRIUMPH OF THE WILLIAMS – THE LOST COPIES! (4-song 7 inch Vinyl), 1995

from David E. Williams

This 4-song 7” EP was originally released in 1995 by Michael Moynihan’s Storm Records in an announced limited edition of 666 hand-numbered copies. Twenty years later, Michael presented David with a box of about 150 unnumbered “found” copies. It is unknown whether these copies are part of the original 666 or “remnant.” These things happen. We’d be crazy to have planned it this way. (But who knows? Back then I assumed that by 2015, Michael Moynihan would be President of the United States, or at least a Senator.)

Nevertheless, they represent an opportunity for fans to own alternate recordings/ mixes of 4 classic early D.E.W. songs on BLOOD RED vinyl.

These four songs – “I Have Forgotten How to Love You,” “Sarah’s Booted Boy,” “Pumpernickel Crust” and “Vaginal Interior Decorator”-- would eventually appear on the I HAVE FORGOTTEN HOW TO LOVE YOU CD (1996) in different versions (e.g. “Pumpernickel Crust” on this 7” is entirely electronic, while the final version includes violin, trumpet, saxophone and real drums). They all feature the ever-stellar guitar work of Jerome Deppe, who also contributes a portrait of D.E.W. to the packaging.

NOT AVAILABLE DIGITALLY. ORIGINAL RECORDINGS EXIST, BUT NEED TO BE LOCATED IN THE ARCHIVE.
